SMArts Impact

2018

12 schools
543 children
770 field trip children

Also, in 2018 we had 8 schools with 227 children that only attended the field trip to the

Nutcracker Suites performance.

We purposely limited the number of schools participating in the complete program to allow for refinement.

2019

37 schools
1546 children
1546 field trip children

Only 1 school that did not return which was due to a change in administration.

2020

39 schools
1554 children
field trip not offered due to Covid

2021

44 schools
2008 children

field trip not offered due to Covid

Only 1 school that did not return due to a change in administration.

2022

26 schools
1440 children
field trip not offered

Teachers were overwhelmed with the implementation of new state curriculum mandates in their school districts.

New digital SMArts Lessons introduced  during  Covid Pandemic.

12 schools are in their 3rd year participating in the SMARTS Program

 6 schools have participated

for 2 plus years

They did the field trip their

first year

14 schools are in their 2nd year

7 schools are new this year

Our future goal is to partner with ballet companies that can offer a live theatre Nutcracker experience to 2-3 grade children in the diverse communities of
Los Angeles, Long Beach, Orange,
Santa Barbara and San Diego Counties.

Lesson_03-Nutcracker-story_600.jpg

"My class truly looked forward to the video lessons.  After the Nutcracker story was read and performed, I took the students out to the school playground where they freely danced all over the steps they remembered most  from the videos. We also wrote a summary of The Nutcracker.

Most thankful."
